Race Tech Italy treatments are done on your parts: piston, head dome, exhaust, U-bend, gearbox gears. They are universal for all kart categories.
All Race Tech Italy treatments are legal and are done only on new, never used parts. They do not change the weight of the part, and dimensions vary by only a few microns. They do not expire: they last as long as the part.
Ceramic treatment
Piston and head dome
We apply a proprietary-formula surface ceramic coating to the piston crown and the head dome. The coating reflects heat back into the combustion chamber instead of letting it disperse into the metal. The gases stay hotter, the engine performs better at all revs, especially at the top end, and piston and head dome work with less thermal stress.
After the treatment the surfaces are yellow.
Anti-friction treatment
Gearbox and primary drive
A surface treatment with a hardness of 800 Vickers, comparable to that of treated gear steel, which reduces friction between surfaces working in contact. On the gearbox, gears engage sooner and shifts become quicker; with less friction less energy is wasted and the gearbox runs a few degrees cooler. On the primary drive, friction and wear go down, and the engine runs more freely.
Important: treated parts must always run in oil. Without lubrication the treatment comes off.
After the treatment the surfaces are grey.

Exhaust treatments
Exhaust, U-bend and silencer
There are two treatments for the exhaust, which you will find together in the Exhaust treatment.
Thermal Barrier. A ceramic coating inside the exhaust, with the same principle as for piston and head dome: it keeps the exhaust gases hotter and increases the push, especially at high revs. It is applied to the exhaust, to the end cap where present, to the U-bend and, on OK engines, to the silencer.
Resonance. It improves the resonance of the exhaust: more torque and more power across the whole rev range, at low and high revs alike. It is applied to the exhaust and to the U-bend.
After the treatment the exhaust changes colour: on the outside it tends towards purple, like an exhaust that has already been used. This is normal, and it is the sign that the treatment has been carried out.
